CONTACT: LINDSAY HART, ZITEL FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC (704) 544-8881 3419 Toringdon Way Charlotte, NC 28277 linzlouhart@hotmail.com CHRISTMAS IN JULY – THE PERFECT TIME TO GIVE Charlotte, NC — July 19, 2005 — Dr. Jeff Zitel of Zitel Family Chiropractic in conjunction with the Central Carolinas United Way and the Community Resources Office of Mecklenburg County will be hosting a “Loaves & Fishes Food Drive” from July 5th through July 29th 2005. Dr. Zitel will be donating his time and services (consultation, any necessary x-rays, spinal exam and full report of findings – a value of up to $300.00) to new patients in exchange for a food donation during these 3 weeks. Their office will be the official drop off place for food donations such as: peanut butter, crackers, tuna, soups, snacks, beans, canned vegetables, canned fruit, cookies, dry snacks, and cereal. During this time, Zitel Family Chiropractic will also be celebrating “Christmas in July”, a three week long event, featuring Christmas music, food and weekly drawings to generate excitement towards donating food. Existing Patients will have to opportunity to donate food and enjoy the Christmas spirit of giving even though it’s only July! Why July? With school out and kids back in the home, parents of low income households are now faced with providing two extra meals a day to hungry mouths. Beverly Hinson, Volunteer Services Coordinator of the Mecklenburg Community Resources Office said that, “For some, coming up with the extra money for food is nearly impossible… this is where The Central Carolina’s United Way and the Mecklenburg Community Resources Office steps in. Through Charlotte’s local Loaves & Fishes food pantry we are able to help nearly 1,000 families monthly. This of course is possible, only through the help and food donations of many.” At Zitel Family Chiropractic, Dr. Jeff and his staff decided they wanted to do something to help. Dr. Zitel said that, “This whole event is a way to come together and give back to the community. We have some of the most generous, loving patients that walk through our doors every day. I am happy to donate my time and services to people in exchange for their donations, which will help families and children all throughout Mecklenburg County.
