Join Mark Antonich of Ameriprise Financial and Cell Phones for Soldiers to Help Our Troops Call Home this Holiday Season
Our troops are faced with mentally and physically challenging situations each day while serving in hostile environments overseas. This Holiday Season it is important to remember and support service men and women that sacrifice their comfort, safety and time with family to preserve the freedom and liberty of our nation.
Mark Antonich of Ameriprise Financial heads up an on-going effort to support our troops by collecting used cell phones for Cell Phones for Soldiers. If you are not familiar, Cell Phones for Soldiers is a non-profit organization that collects and recycles used wireless phones. With the proceeds from the recycling, the organization then purchases prepaid phone cards for military families.
Residents of Charlotte and nearby towns can donate used cell phones by dropping them off at Mark's office at Ameriprise Financial in Ballantyne Corporate Park - Ballantyne One Building, 15720 John J. Delaney Drive, Suite 300.
"With more than 150,000 troops serving overseas and away from their families, this is an opportunity to help our military men and women, and keep toxic wastes out of our landfills. We are proud to show support for U.S. soldiers and hope that a call home will make a small difference to them and their loved ones,” says Mark Antonich. Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded in 2004 by 12- and 13-year-old siblings Robbie and Brittany Bergquist with just $21 of their own money. From the recycling of used mobile phones and cash donations, Cell Phones for Soldiers has raised more than $7 million, collected more than 7.5 million cell phones and provided troops overseas with more than 90 million minutes of free talk time.
